ISU Wins Big 12 Game of the Year

AMES, Iowa ? The Iowa State women's basketball win against Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals was chosen as the Big 12 Women's Game of the Year.
Fans were able to vote on the four finalists in each category on the Big 12 website. The winners were announced Friday on the Big 12 Showcase on FSN. The show will be aired again on Saturday at 11 a.m. on FSN Midwest.
Iowa State defeated the regular-season champion Kansas State Wildcats in overtime, 66-65, at the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City in the Big 12 Game of the Year. Trailing by two, ISU's Lacey went the full length of the court for a layup and converted a free throw with four seconds left in the extra period to give ISU a one-point advantage. KSU had one last chance, as Shalee Lehning raced down the court and put up a shot just before the horn that spun around the rim twice before falling out.
“To win the game of the year in the best league in the country is great, especially considering the dramatic comeback we made,” ISU head coach Bill Fennelly said.
