The Cyclones went 1-2 in those three games a season ago, winning at Colorado and falling to Oklahoma and Texas.

Junior Alison Lacey also needs just 90 points to become the third Cyclone this season to join the club.

The Series
? Kansas State holds a 43-25 lead in the all-time series between the two teams, which dates back to 1974. The Wildcats are 22-9 against Iowa State in Manhattan. ? Iowa State had won four straight meetings with Kansas State until the Wildcats won both regular-season games last season. The two teams met for a third time in 2007-08 in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals, where the Cyclones knocked off the 15th-ranked Wildcats, 66-65, in an exciting overtime contest.
? Last season, Kansas State won 80-49 in Manhattan in a game that was just a week removed from the Cyclones losing their second starting post player to an ACL injury in Nicky Wieben. KSU hit 12 three-pointers in the game and shot 49.2 percent from the field. In the second meeting in Ames, the Cyclones lost a disappointing 45-42 decision to Kansas State. ISU only trailed by one point with 14.7 seconds to go, but couldn't get shots to fall and KSU hit free throws that decided the game. In the final meeting between the two teams in Kansas City at the Big 12 Championships, Iowa State escaped with a 66-65 overtime victory. The Cyclones trailed by six points with under 30 seconds remaining in OT, but ISU made the plays to earn the win. Shalee Lehning put up a shot at the buzzer for KSU that rolled around the rim twice before falling out.

Last Time Out
Iowa State hit 10 three-pointers in the second half, but the Cyclone comeback fell short as No. 5 Baylor knocked off ISU 68-57 Wednesday night at the Ferrell Center. Junior Kelsey Bolte led the Cyclones, hitting a career-high six three-pointers for 20 points. After struggling offensively in the first half, Iowa State shot 46.4 percent from the field and 62.5 percent (10-16) from three-point range in the second half. The Cyclones stood toe-to-toe with the nation's best rebounding team being outrebounded by just one, 41-40. Heather Ezell was Iowa State's second-leading scorer with 11 points and three treys. Bolte led the Cyclones on the glass with nine rebounds. The Cyclones trailed 32-15 at the break after shooting a dismal 18.2 percent from the field and committing 12 turnovers.
The Votes Are In
Iowa State went from receiving votes last week to ranking 20th in the Associated Press poll this week. ISU is one of seven Big 12 teams to rank in the AP Top 25 this week. It is the first time the Cyclones have been ranked in the AP Top 20 since the 2004-05 season. The Cyclones moved back into the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Top 25 last week, after receiving votes for a number of weeks. The Cyclones are ranked No. 20 this week. ISU ranked in the coaches' poll for the first three weeks of the season, before dropping to receiving votes after the loss at Iowa.
1,000-Point Club Members
The Cyclones could have three different players hit the 1,000-point milestone this season. Heather Ezell (1,120) was the first to reach the mark in the win over Drake. Nicky Wieben (1,031) joined the club against IPFW. Alison Lacey (910) is also within striking distance of the mark. With the addition of Ezell and Wieben, 20 players in school history have already reached 1,000 career points.
Nationally Speaking
(As of Jan. 12) Iowa State ranks in the top 50 of nine NCAA statistical categories. The Cyclones rank ninth nationally with their 7.9 three-pointers per game, but that is not all they are doing well. ISU also ranks in the top 50 in: won-lost margin (14), rebounding margin (14), personal fouls per game (19), assist-to-turnover ratio (22), turnovers per game (24), scoring margin (26), scoring defense (29) and free throw percentage (41). Heather Ezell ranks 21st with 2.7 three-pointers per game and 51st with her 39.6 three-point shooting percentage. Alison Lacey ranks 59th with her 1.62 assist-to-turnover margin.
Making A Mark
With each blocked shot Nicky Wieben records this season, she adds to her Iowa State career record, which currently sits at 175. In the final game before her injury last season, Wieben surpassed Angie Welle's previous ISU career mark of 155. Wieben has also moved up the Big 12 career list, passing Baylor's Steffanie Blackmon (159, 2002-05) for 10th place. Three other current players in the Big 12 are also in the career top 10.
Jocelyn Anderson also ranks in Iowa State's career top 10 for blocked shots, sitting in a tie for sixth place with 87. She now needs five to move into a tie for fifth place with Stephannie Smith (92).
Heather Ezell ranks 14th in Iowa State career scoring with 1,120 points. She is 38 points shy of 13th place (Colleen Peterson, 1,158). She is also moving up the ISU career three-pointer list as well as the steals list. She ranks third with 242 treys in her career. She surpassed Megan Ronhovde (241) for third place against Baylor and needs 32 more to tie Stacy Frese for second place. Ezell's 168 career steals rank seventh in ISU school history and she needs just two to move into sixth place and three to move into fifth.
Raining Threes
Iowa State's 18 three-pointers against Detroit tied the Iowa State single-game record previously set against Missouri Feb. 19, 2000. ISU's 48 three-point attempts vs. the Titans broke the single-game school record. The previous record was 44 against Liberty set on Dec. 9, 2000. Heather Ezell contributed eight of those three-pointers, but that mark was two shy of her career high. She has hit seven or more three-pointers in a single game five times in her career.
Iowa State has hit 10 or more treys in six games this season and Ezell has hit three or more treys in 10 of Iowa State's 16 games this season.
Turning Up the Heat
Iowa State is forcing opponents into 17.5 turnovers per game this season, which is the most since ISU opponents averaged 18.3 per game in 1994-95. The Cyclones forced opponents into an average of 12.8 turnovers per game last season in comparison. Minnesota committed 26 turnovers and ISU picked off 14 steals against the Gophers. The Cyclones trumped both of the those numbers as they forced Niagara into 30 turnovers (the most opponent turnovers since forcing 30 against Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Dec. 17, 1995) and picked off 18 steals (the most since recording 20 vs. UMKC on Nov. 18, 1997). ISU did it again against Vanderbilt, forcing 27 miscues by the Commodores.
