In order to give Cyclone fans an inside look at the Iowa State women's basketball team throughtout the season, head coach Bill Fennelly and members of the ISU team will be posting a weekly blog at cyclones.com on each Tuesday throughout the school year.
Fans will have a chance to hear directly from Coach Fennelly throughout the season about how practice is going, how the team is doing during the season, and what he sees as the staples of the ISU women's basketball program. Players will talk to you each week about their perspective of school life, practices, games, and the daily hurdles of being a Division I student-athlete.
Junior Denae Stuckey writes her second blog of the season today, telling you about the transition back to classes and what that entails for a student-athlete. Freshman Whitney Williams will write to you next week as she is into her second semester of classes and the second half of her collegiate basketball career.
Dear Cyclone fans,
It was great during break because there weren't any classes to attend. Now that classes have begun, I have had to adjust to a full schedule again. It seems as if my days are extremely full because of class, study time, practice, sometimes weights when we have them, and getting my nutrients. I've been working on eating healthier, including eating breakfast more often. I don't have any complaints because I'm blessed to see another day. I actually like a full day because I get restless when I don't have anything to do. Usually I go to sleep when I'm not doing anything because I'm always tired. It seems like athletes feel more tired because of the activities and exercises they do on a daily basis.

I made a goal for myself for this semester. I want to get a B or higher in all of my classes. I'm taking 18 credits, but one is an online class, so it's not as bad as it seems.
If anyone is wondering about me and Michael (Bibbs), we are doing well. He started training last weekend twice a day, so our schedules are conflicting with time together. We began marriage counseling this weekend because it's the traditional thing to do. Plus, it will help us have a better understanding and unity with one another. We both figured it would be best to do it before he leaves for training camp.
All together everything is going pretty well. The team is working towards becoming something special, and I'm ecstatic to be allowed to be apart of it. I look forward to seeing you at some games and if you aren't able to make it, that's okay too because you're still considered a fan to us. Thank you for all your support for Iowa State women's basketball and thanks for taking the time to read my blog. God Bless!
