ISU Opens Spring Season at Home Against Drake

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State tennis team will begin its spring season on Friday by playing host to Drake at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center Indoor Facility at 2 p.m. The Cyclones are optimistic about the upcoming season after a strong showing during the fall season.

In the last week of fall play, sophomore Erin Karonis, competed in the ITA Regional and advanced to the round of 32. Karonis also advanced to the finals this fall in the Jayhawk Invitational after defeating Kansas' Kunigunda Dorn.
Cyclone freshman Marie-Christine Chartier advanced to the finals at the Drake Invitational with a win over UNI's Jessica Kunzelmann.
The Cyclones knocked off the Bulldogs, 4-3, last season in Des Moines after Reka Kelemen won her No. 6 singles match to claim the ISU victory.
Drake recorded a 43-29 record in singles play this past fall season. The Bulldogs claimed four titles at the Drake Invitational.
