Lightbourne to Miss Up to Four Weeks

AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State women's basketball player Genesis Lightbourne will be sidelined for approximately four weeks to begin the basketball season, Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly announced Tuesday.
Lightbourne, a senior forward, will undergo arthroscopic surgery to her left knee for diagnostic purposes on Friday.
“I feel badly for Genesis and our team as we are thin to start with in the post,” Fennelly said. “I hope she can return soon and have an impact on our team in her senior year.”
Lightbourne represents the only returning Cyclone in the post. For her career, she has averaged 1.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest. She had the same knee scoped in January after tearing her lateral meniscus.
