Cyclone Gymnasts Conclude Exhibition Slate

AMES, Iowa?With less than a month before its season-opening meet, the No. 23 Iowa State gymnastics team competed in its final intrasquad exhibition Sunday afternoon in the Pyle Family Gymnastics Practice Facility.
Additionally, before starting the intrasquad, Iowa State head coach Jay Ronayne gave an educational session to fans that were interesting in learning more about collegiate gymnastics.

In the intrasquad, the Cyclones began on vault. Sophomore Michelle Browning scored a 9.75, while junior Alex Grant and sophomore Celine Paulus tallied 9.7s.
Following vault, Iowa State marched to bars. Senior Jody McKellar led the ISU bars team with a 9.85. Seniors Ashley Kent and Ceilia Maccani chipped in with 9.8s.
For its third event, the Cyclones moved to beam. Browning delivered a stellar 9.85 routine, while Paulus continued her strong afternoon with a 9.75.
Floor was the Cyclones' final routine and Paulus capped off her fine all-around performance with a 9.85. Senior Anna Robey and sophomore Shea Anderson each registered a 9.8 to round out the ISU floor team.
Iowa State begins its regular season Jan. 8 in Hilton Coliseum at 7 p.m. against Wisconsin-Stout.
