In order to give Cyclone fans an inside look at the Iowa State women's basketball team throughtout the season, head coach Bill Fennelly and members of the ISU team will be posting a weekly blog at cyclones.com on each Tuesday throughout the school year.
Fans will have a chance to hear directly from Coach Fennelly throughout the season about how practice is going, how the team is doing during the season, and what he sees as the staples of the ISU women's basketball program. Players will talk to you each week about their perspective of school life, practices, games, and the daily hurdles of being a Division I student-athlete.
Alison Lacey chimes in this week and catches Cyclone fans up on everything she's been up to since last writing in the preseason. She also lets you know about another blog she writes on a weekly basis for the New York Times. Check back next week to hear from senior Jocelyn Anderson after a huge week for the No. 16 Cyclones.
Hello Cyclone Fans!
So much has happened since I last wrote! I made it home for my sisters wedding, where I spent a week rushing around town helping with last minutes things. The stress was well worth it as my sister Melissa and her husband Luke celebrated their big day with all their friends and family with no tribulation!

We traveled to Hawaii in November and I managed to not get eaten by sharks, which I feel is always an accomplishment when going to the beach.
We are now in a new year and things are going really well for us Cyclones! We are 18-4 and 6-2 in Big 12. There is no doubt we would not be in this position without the support of you fans! You definitely help us out while we are playing at Hilton, and we miss you when we are playing on the road.
I am excited that my parents will be visiting my brother Mark and I. They arrive Feb. 11, while I will be busy playing Oklahoma. They will be staying for six weeks and will be able to travel to Oklahoma City, to watch the Big 12 tournament for the first time! They have told me that they can't wait to see snow again and get to be in some cooler weather. Australia has been in a heat wave the past week with temperatures reaching 115 and higher!
Hopefully some of you were able to watch some of the Australia Open. If you did, I am sure you heard about how hot it was while they were playing. Unfortunately my favorite player, Roger Federer, lost in the championship match, but he is still number one to me!
I am now also writing a blog for the New York Times. I get to talk about anything I want. If you want to check out what I have written so far, you can go to http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/.
Thanks again for all your support and wish us luck for the remainder of the season!
