Cyclone Notebook
? Iowa State opens a four-game road trip Wednesday with a doubleheader at Missouri.
? The Cyclones, who went 2-2 last week in Big 12 play, are looking to snap a four-game skid against the Tigers.
? The Cyclones have split their last two Big 12 series (Nebraska, Oklahoma State).
? ISU head coach Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler is 1-5 against her alma mater. Gemeinhardt-Cesler graduated from Missouri in 2001 where she was a two-time All-Big 12 outfielder.
? The Cyclones are coming off a series split with Oklahoma State over the weekend.
? Rachel Zabriskie had an outstanding weekend against the Cowgirls. The sophomore allowed just three earned runs and struck out 15 in earning the split. Zabriskie tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts in Saturday's game against the OSU.
? Courtney Wray and Bianca Lopez have been leading the charge for the Cyclones at the plate over the last 10 games. Wray is hitting .310 (9-for-29) while Lopez is at .300 (9-for-30) during the stretch.
? Since joining the starting lineup 11 games ago, Lopez is leading the Cyclones with a .333 average at the plate. The freshman has doubled twice and tripled during the stretch.
? Lopez is currently riding a career-best three-game hitting streak. She extended the streak in her final at bat against OSU.
? Alex Johnson doubled and homered against the Cowgirls. The junior is just two doubles shy of tying the career mark at ISU.
? Johnson, who has 33 RBI this season, is just the second Cyclone to drive in 30 runs in back-to-back seasons. She joins Lisa Leinen who accomplished the feat in 1988 and 1989.
? Johnson needs just eight RBI to tie the all-time ISU mark of 104, set by Ashley Killeen (2004-07).
? Johnson leads the Cyclones with nine RBI in Big 12 play. She is followed by Courtney Wray with six.
? Carleigh Berry returned to the lineup at Nebraska after missing eight games (appendectomy). Berry is 16-for-17 on stolen bases, leaving her just two stolen bases shy of the single-season mark at ISU. She is 27-for-30 for her career, which is tied for fifth all-time.
? Wray and Johnson continue to work their way up the all-time hits list. Wray is currently tied for fifth with 145, while Johnson is seventh with 143.
? Junior Kelsey Kidwell has 107 career hits, including a team-high 103 in the last two seasons.
? Because of injuries, Zabriskie has shouldered much of the load in the circle and is on pace to break the single-season mark for innings pitched. Zabriskie has tossed 232.0 innings this season with the record sitting at 279.0 (Suzanne Wedemeier, 1982).
? Zabriskie also could break the single-season strikeout mark. The sophomore needs just 44 more, or 6.3 per game with at least seven games left, to top the mark.
? Zabriskie has notched 335 career strikeouts, good for seventh all-time at ISU. Zabriskie needs just 10 more to move past Lori Young (1984-85).
Scouting Missouri
? The Tigers sit in first place in the Big 12 with a 40-5 overall mark and 10-2 conference record. Missouri was picked to finish second in the Big 12's preseason poll.
? The Tigers are 12-2 at home, including 3-1 in Big 12 play.
? Missouri averages 6.7 runs on 9.1 hits per game.
? The Tigers are leading the Big 12 in hitting (.337) and pitching (1.24).
? Missouri is led at the plate by the Big 12's leading hitter Marla Schweisberger, who is hitting .440 and has driven in 42 runs. Rhea Taylor leads off for the Tigers, hitting .420. Taylor is also tied for the Big 12 lead with 27 stolen bases.
? Lindsey Ubrun has nine homers while Megan Christopher chips in eight for the Big 12's second-leading power hitting team.
? Four pitchers see time in the circle for the Tigers, led by Stacy Delaney, who is 12-2 with a 1.19 ERA. Chelsea Thomas is 10-2 this year with a Big 12 best 0.97 ERA.
