In order to give Cyclone fans an inside look at the Iowa State women's basketball team throughtout the season, head coach Bill Fennelly and members of the ISU team will be posting a weekly blog at cyclones.com on each Tuesday throughout the school year.
Fans will have a chance to hear directly from Coach Fennelly throughout the school year about how practice is going, how the team is doing during the season, and what he sees as the staples of the ISU women's basketball program. Players will talk to you each week about their perspective of school life, practices, games, and the daily hurdles of being a Division I student-athlete.
Toccara Ross writes today's blog and tells you about her upcoming graduation and future basketball plans. There are only two weeks left of the women's basketball blog, so check back over the next two Tuesdays as Shellie Mosman and Anna Florzak write in to tell you about their summer plans.
Greetings Cyclone Fans,
I hope all is well in Cyclone Country! As the semester is wrapping up, the responsibility of a student-athlete has continued to weigh on me as I am preparing to graduate. The greatest task was managing to catch up with my studies as we returned from a great run in the NCAA Championship.

My key focus now is on graduation and finishing my senior portfolio, allowing me to showcase my writing for future employers. I have worked very hard academically while at Iowa State to ensure that I can graduate with an exceptional resume. I am proud to say I will graduate with two bachelors of art degrees in communication studies and speech communication. I am even more excited to say that I have laid a firm foundation for my brother to continue the Cyclone tradition, as he has been accepted to Iowa State for the fall of 2009.
As for my future plans outside of school, I have secured a private tryout with several GM's and coaches on the island of Puerto Rico. I will leave May 15 and will be allowed to showcase my skills in the hopes of securing a contract with one of the many teams on the island. This is a very promising trip and I am humbled by the offer. I pray for a safe trip and well wishes in my hopes of achieving yet another dream, playing professional basketball.
Although my time at Iowa State is quickly coming to a close; there will always be a special place in my heart for the people, community, athletics and my family and friends who still reside here in Ames, Iowa.
There is truly no better place in the country to... walk the trek around Lake Lavern... listen to the chimes of the Campanile at noon...eat Cy-Cones at the women's volleyball matches...or watch my fellow teammates play in the BEST atmosphere in the country at Hilton Coliseum!
Finally, thank you for allowing me to leave a piece of myself in the rich history of Iowa State Women's Basketball.
