In order to give Cyclone fans an inside look at the Iowa State women's basketball team throughtout the season, head coach Bill Fennelly and members of the ISU team will be posting a weekly blog at cyclones.com on each Tuesday throughout the school year.
Fans will have a chance to hear directly from Coach Fennelly throughout the school year about how practice is going, how the team is doing during the season, and what he sees as the staples of the ISU women's basketball program. Players will talk to you each week about their perspective of school life, practices, games, and the daily hurdles of being a Division I student-athlete.
Coach Fennelly writes in this week to thank the fans for all their support throughout the season. He also talks about the record-setting season past and the five seniors who will graduate from Iowa State University. Check back next week to see how the Cyclones are doing during the offseason.
What an ELITE YEAR!
I want to thank you for again being the best fans in the nation this season. You followed us all over the country and made Hilton Magical again. We finished No. 3 in the nation in attendance and we had some great wins at home and much of that was because of the support you gave us.

Our team won 27 games, finished third in the Big 12 (the nation's toughest conference), and made it the Elite 8 of the NCAA Championship. Just as importantly, we continued to spread the word about Iowa State University across the country. Our players always conducted themselves with class and grace and that really made an impact on all we encountered this season. I can't tell you how many people commented to me about our team and how great they were to deal with in every way. I truly believe winning games is important but winning friends of Iowa State is just as important, if not more so
We will lose five great seniors. They will all graduate and become a part of the best alumni group in the country - CYCLONE NATION!
I hope everyone has a great spring and supports the upcoming seasons for all Cyclone Teams. We will see you on the tailgate tour!
