OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. ? Iowa State's Alex Johnson and Rachel Zabriskie have been selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team, the conference announced Friday at the Big 12 Championships.
Johnson, a junior, earned her first career honor after hitting .268 and driving in a team-high 38 runs. The Raymore, Mo. native also had a team-high seven homers this season while starting all but one game for the Cyclones at catcher.

In conference play, Johnson homered five times and drove in 14 runs in just 17 games played.
Johnson's battery mate Zabriskie, a sophomore, was selected to the team after winning 17 games, including six in conference play, during the regular season. Zabriskie, who spent most of the Big 12 season as ISU's only healthy arm, led the Big 12 in appearances and innings pitched and was second with 214 strikeouts.
Oklahoma second baseman Amber Flores was named the Big 12's Player of the Year while Baylor's Whitney Canion took home Pitcher and Freshman of the Year honors. Natalie Villarreal of Texas A&M was named the league's top defensive player while OU coach Patty Gasso was named Coach of the Year for the fourth time.
