AMES, Iowa ? Dan Petersen has joined the Iowa State women's basketball staff as a graduate assistant, head coach Bill Fennelly announced Wednesday. Petersen has spent the last three seasons as a student manager for the ISU men's team and will replace Molly Parrott on the women's staff.
“I am excited to have Dan Petersen join our staff,” Fennelly said. “He loves Iowa State basketball and is very familiar with our program. His expertise in regards to video will be critical to us this year.”
Petersen graduated from Iowa State in May 2009 with a degree in logistics and supply chain management. He will pursue a master's degree in higher education at ISU. Petersen graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School.
The Overland Park, Kan., native has worked with Greg McDermott's staff over the past three years, assisting with film editing, database entry and practice set up. He has also worked for the Iowa Cubs and served as a baseball coach for Blue Valley West High School in the summer of 2006. He was a member of the Buena Vista basketball team for one season before transferring to ISU.
