ISU Gymnasts Move Up To No. 14 In National Rankings

AMES, Iowa?The Iowa State gymnastics team continued its steady ascent up the NCAA national rankings, as the Cyclones climbed three spots this week to No. 14. The ranking is the highest ISU has been since it was No. 13 on March 5, 2007.
The Cyclones are coming off a Jan. 22 meet at No. 11 Missouri, where ISU tallied its highest team score since 2007 with a 196.000.
Regular-season NCAA gymnastics rankings are determined based on averaging team scores tabulated from the entire campaign.
Iowa State has a pair of gymnasts individually ranked. Senior Ashley Kent is No. 15 on beam and sophomore Michelle Browning is No. 25 in the all-around.
ISU returns to action Friday when the Cyclones play host to No. 17 Michigan and BYU at 7 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
