AMES, Iowa - The 19th-ranked Iowa State women's basketball team will try to get back into the win column this week when it plays host to Texas Tech at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones are coming off a loss at Kansas State on Sunday that snapped a four-game winning streak, while the Lady Raiders have dropped four straight.

? Iowa State will make its first FSN appearance of the season on Sunday when the Cyclones travel to Columbia, Mo., to face the Missouri Tigers at 3 p.m. The Cyclones will then have a bye before playing host to No. 14 Baylor in ISU's Pink Zone game on Feb. 13.
? ISU will try to continue its success in the Big 12 Conference. The Cyclones have finished in the top four of the league's final standings in three of the last five seasons, and Iowa State holds the third best conference record in Big 12 history (132-83).

A Closer Look At Texas Tech
? Texas Tech comes to Ames on a mission to snap a four-game Big 12 losing streak. The Lady Raiders have dropped their last four contests to Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Oklahoma, teams all ranked in the Top 25. Tech went 12-2 during the nonconference slate, before beginning Big 12 actions with a 1-5 record.
? The Lady Raiders are leading the league in steals, averaging 10.9 thefts per game this season. Jordan Murphree (2.4 pg) ranks third and freshman Monique Smalls (2.1 pg) is eighth among Big 12 players. The duo has also led Tech in assists, as Smalls ranks eighth in the conference with 4.1 apg, while Murphree is 10th with 3.4 apg.
? Texas Tech is averaging 68.2 points per game this season, while holding opponents to 62.5 ppg. The Lady Raiders are shooting 42.3 percent from the field and three players are averaging double figures. Kierra Mallard leads the way for TTU with 13.1 points per game. Jordan Murphree is averaging 12.8 ppg, while posting a team-high 22 three-pointers. Ashlee Roberson is averaging 12 points a contest, but more impressive is her nine rebounds a game, which rank third in the Big 12.
? In Texas Tech's most recent game, the Lady Raiders came close to knocking off Oklahoma in Lubbock. Tech tied the game at 66-all with a minute and a half left, and the Lady Raiders had chances at the end, but could not get a shot to fall, before dropping the 70-66 decision. Jordan Murphree scored 16 of her 28 points in the final nine minutes.
? Texas Tech went 16-15 overall last season and finished with a 6-10 Big 12 mark that was good for a tie for seventh place in the league standings. The Lady Raiders were last in the NCAA Tournament in 2005, and played in the WNIT in 2008.
? Texas Tech head coach Kristy Curry is in her fourth season at the helm of the Lady Raiders. Curry has compiled a record of 61-54 at Tech and a career record of 240-105 in 11 years.
The Series
? The all-time series between Iowa State and Texas Tech is tied at 8-all. The Cyclones have won the last four meetings and are 5-1 against the Lady Raiders at Hilton Coliseum.
? Last season, Iowa State escaped Lubbock with a 59-52 win over Texas Tech. The Cyclones, however, relied on three seniors to earn that win with high scoring coming from Amanda Nisleit (19), Heather Ezell (16) and Nicky Wieben (8). The Cyclones shot 33.3 percent from the field and 32 percent from long range. Tech shot 27.6 percent from the floor and 20 percent from beyond the arc. The Lady Raiders outrebounded ISU, 44-39. ISU hit eight free throws, including six from Nisleit, as it went on a 15-2 run to go up by 18 (50-32) with 6:25 left. The Lady Raiders later went on an 8-0 run to close the margin to single digits (55-46) with two minutes to go, but ISU hit free throws at the end to hold off Tech.
Last Time Out
? The Cyclones had a four-game win streak snapped with a 73-67 loss at Kansas State on Sunday. Iowa State got within two points, 52-50, of the Wildcats, but KSU again found answers, going on a 7-0 run to put the game out or reach for ISU.
? Iowa State shot 48.3 percent, but was held to six three-pointers, with all six coming in the second half, including three in the final three minutes of the contest.
? Senior Alison Lacey posted her fifth double-double in addition to her triple-double this season. She had 13 points and 10 assists. She moved up to sixth place on ISU's career scoring chart with 1,503 points, surpassing Stacy Frese.
? Four players finished in double figures for the Cyclones, led by Kelsey Bolte's 19 points. She was 8-for-17 from the field and hit two three-pointers. She also passed out three assists. Denae Stuckey and Anna Prins each pitched in 10 points.
? The Cyclones won the battle of the boards for the 17th time this season and the fourth time in Big 12 action. ISU earned a 30-28 edge on the glass over the Wildcats.
? Iowa State posted 19 assists on 28 field goals against Kansas State. It was the Cyclones' highest tally in Big 12 action this season, and the best since posting 21 against Iowa on Dec. 10.
The Votes Are In
Iowa State jumped into the Associated Press Top 25 last week, with a No. 22 ranking, and they remained there this week. Seven Big 12 squads are ranked in the AP Top 25, led by Nebraska's No. 4 ranking, this week. ISU dropped one spot to rank 19th in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
Snapping Streaks
The Iowa State football team snapped a number of streaks during the fall, and the Cyclone women's basketball team is following their lead this season. ISU's win over No. 11 Oklahoma snapped a six-game losing streak to the Sooners. The Cyclones' win over Texas a few days earlier also snapped a couple of losing streaks for ISU. It was ISU's first win over the Longhorns in Austin since 2000, a streak of four straight losses. The win over UT also snapped a four-game losing streak to teams ranked in the AP Top 25, and a five-game losing streak to teams ranked in the AP Top 25 on the road.
Going to Overtime
Iowa State is 13-6 in overtime games under head coach Bill Fennelly and 21-15 overall. The Cyclones have won their last five OT contests and ISU's win at Texas in an extra period was its first overtime effort since defeating top-seeded Kansas State, 66-65, in the 2008 Big 12 Championship.
Hitting the Glass
Iowa State has been a solid rebounding team this season, winning the battle of the boards in all but three games this season. ISU is averaging 38.3 rebounds per contest. In the three contests leading up to Big 12 play, the Cyclones averaged a rebounding margin of +26. ISU outrebounded those three opponents by a combined total of 139-61, and in each game the Cyclones had more rebounds than the other team had points. Iowa State is averaging a rebounding margin of +9.0 per game, which ranks second in the Big 12 and 10th in the country. Rebounding has been a team effort, however, as four players are averaging 5.1 rebounds per game or more.
Defensive Pressure
The Cyclone defense has also been a bright spot this season. Iowa State is holding opponents to just 54.3 points per game through 20 contests. That mark leads the Big 12 and is 16th in the nation. ISU is also holding opponents to 36.6 percent shooting from the field and 30.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Triple Threat
ISU senior Alison Lacey has been outstanding this season. The 6-foot point guard is averaging 17.8 points, 6.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. In Iowa State's win over Iowa, Lacey posted just the second triple-double in school history. She recorded 19 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. In that same game, she also had five steals and two blocked shots. The only other triple-double in school history was by Jane Lobenstein in a game vs. Kansas in 1986. Lacey has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and has only turned the ball over 38 times in 20 games. She is shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from beyond the arc.
On Fire
Iowa State has been one of the hottest three-point shooting teams in the nation again this season. The Cyclones have averaged 8.2 three-pointers per game (seventh nationally as of Friday) and have shot the ball at a 41 percent clip (led the nation as of Friday) from beyond the arc. Iowa State has hit 10 or more three-pointers in seven games this season. ISU hit 33 three-pointers in back-to-back games this season (17 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 16 vs. Iowa). It's the first time in school history Iowa State has hit 30 or more treys in consecutive games combined. ISU has also hit at least 10 threes by halftime in two games. Three Cyclones have knocked down 31 or more three-pointers. Six ISU players are shooting 40.6 percent or better from long range this season.
National Status
In NCAA statistics released Monday, Iowa State has two individuals who rank highly in a number of categories. Alison Lacey rank in the top nine in three categories. She leads the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.42), ranks ninth in assists per game (6.5), and is third in triple-doubles (1). She is also 12th in free-throw percentage (.882) and 49th in scoring (17.8 ppg). Kelsey Bolte ranks 24th in three-point percentage, hitting at a 43.7 percent clip, while Lacey ranks 47th at a 40.6 percent clip.
Big 12 Status
Alison Lacey leads the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover margin (3.4), and free-throw percentage (.882). She is third in assists per game (6.5) and ranks sixth in scoring (17.8).She ranks third in scoring in Big 12 Conference contests with 18.9 ppg. Kelsey Bolte is fourth (2.4) in the league in three-pointers made, while Lacey is 10th with 2.2 pg. Bolte ranks fifth in three-point percentage (.437), while Whitney Williams is eighth (.419) and Lacey is 10th (.406). Anna Prins ranks fourth among Big 12 freshmen in scoring, averaging 9.2 points per game. Chelsea Poppens ranks second among Big 12 freshmen in rebounding with 5.7 rebounds per contest.
1,500-500-500 Club
Senior Alison Lacey is close to becoming the only player in Iowa State history to reach 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in her Cyclone career. Lacey currently holds 1,503 points, 527 rebounds and 471 assists.
