Cyclone Notebook
? Iowa State will have a bye during the midweek before returning to the court to play host to No. 15 Baylor in the Cyclones' Pink Zone contest. ISU will take on the Lady Bears at 11 a.m. next Saturday in another FSN appearance. Beginning with the Baylor game, the Cyclones will play out the rest of its home schedule each Saturday through March 6.
? ISU is continuing its success in the Big 12 Conference. The Cyclones have finished in the top four of the league's final standings in three of the last five seasons, and Iowa State holds the third best conference record in Big 12 history (133-83).
? Iowa State is in its 37th season of women's basketball and its 15th season under head coach Bill Fennelly. Iowa State is 561-498 in school history.
? The 2008-09 season was one of the best in school history for the Cyclones. They tied the school record with 27 wins and advanced to the Elite Eight for the second time.
? Head coach Bill Fennelly is 324-145 in his 15th season with the Cyclones. He is 490-198 in his head coaching career, which began at Toledo in 1988.
A Closer Look At Missouri
? Missouri enters the contest with Iowa State holding an 11-10 overall record and a 1-7 mark in the Big 12. The Tigers' league record is misleading, however, as their one win is over then-No. 10 Baylor (70-62) and two of their losses have come to Oklahoma by one (62-61) and Kansas by two (61-59). Mizzou was in the entire game at 10th-ranked Texas A&M on Wednesday night before the Aggies pulled away at the end for a 65-55 victory.
? Missouri is averaging 65.6 points per game for the season, but is posting just 57.8 points a contest during the Big 12 slate. The Tigers are shooting 39.3 percent from the field, while allowing opponents to shoot 40.6 percent. MU is hitting 30.1 percent of its outside shots, led by Amanda Hanneman's 42 three-pointers.
? Five Tigers are averaging 9.1 points per game or better. Senior Jessra Johnson is leading the way with 13.2 points per game, while fellow senior Amanda Hanneman is chipping in 10.2 ppg. Johnson is Mizzou's top rebounder with 6.3 boards per contest. RaeShara Brown is MU's assist leader with 3.5 a game. Brown also ranks eighth nationally with 3.3 steals a contest.
? Missouri head coach Cindy Stein is in her 12th season with the Tigers, posting a record of 184-169. She started her head coaching career at Emporia State and has accumulated a career record of 249-192.
The Series
? Missouri leads the all-time series with Iowa State, 45-23, and holds a 22-8 advantage when the game is played in Columbia, Mo. The Cyclones have won the last five meetings with the Tigers and the ISU seniors' only loss to Mizzou came in Columbia during their freshmen season when they fell 66-56.
? Iowa State won both meetings last season with Missouri. The Cyclones earned a 65-42 win in Ames on Jan. 21, and then knocked off the Tigers on their home court, 62-47, on March 3. In the last meeting in Columbia, the Cyclones hit 11 three-pointers, including seven in the second half. Heather Ezell finished with 19 points to lead the Cyclones in her home state, while Amanda Nisleit had 17 and Kelsey Bolte contributed 15 points, including a trio of treys.
Last Time Out
? The first half saw 10 lead changes and four ties before Iowa State went on a 14-2 run going into the break as the Cyclones pulled away for a 63-48 win over Texas Tech Wednesday night at Hilton Coliseum.
? Kelsey Bolte was in double figures for the fourth consecutive game, scoring a game-high 19 points, including going 5-for-7 from beyond the arc. She hit five three-pointers in a contest for the fifth time this season.
? Alison Lacey nearly completed another triple-double as she posted 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. She posted her sixth double-double of the season (in addition to her triple-double). On a night she was always double-team and occasionally triple-teamed, she committed an uncharacteristic five turnovers in the second half. She drove to the basket for the final six points of the first half to finish off the Cyclones' run.
? Chelsea Poppens was also in double figures for the Cyclones with 11 points, going 4-for-6 from the field. Fellow freshman Jessica Schroll was strong on the glass with seven rebounds.
? Iowa State shot 47.6 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from outside the arc, while the Cyclone defense held Texas Tech to 32.7 percent shooting and a 29.2 percent clip from three-point range.
? The Cyclones' 23 turnovers were a season high and their highest since Dec. 30, 2005, in a win over IPFW (23).
? With a 39-24 rebounding edge, ISU won the battle of the boards for the 18th time this season and the fifth time in Big 12 action.
? Iowa State was 17-for-23 from the charity stripe (73.9 percent), while sending the Lady Raiders to the line just 10 times, where they hit five three throws.
The Votes Are In
Iowa State jumped into the Associated Press Top 25 last week, with a No. 22 ranking, and they remained there this week. Seven Big 12 squads are ranked in the AP Top 25, led by Nebraska's No. 4 ranking, this week. ISU dropped one spot to rank 19th in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
Snapping Streaks
The Iowa State football team snapped a number of streaks during the fall, and the Cyclone women's basketball team has followed their lead this season. ISU's win over No. 11 Oklahoma snapped a six-game losing streak to the Sooners. The Cyclones' win over Texas a few days earlier also snapped a couple of losing streaks for ISU. It was ISU's first win over the Longhorns in Austin since 2000, a streak of four straight losses. The win over UT also snapped a four-game losing streak to teams ranked in the AP Top 25, and a five-game losing streak to teams ranked in the AP Top 25 on the road.
Going to Overtime
Iowa State is 13-6 in overtime games under head coach Bill Fennelly and 21-15 overall. The Cyclones have won their last five OT contests and ISU's win at Texas in an extra period was its first overtime effort since defeating top-seeded Kansas State, 66-65, in the 2008 Big 12 Championship.
Hitting the Glass
Iowa State has been a solid rebounding team this season, winning the battle of the boards in all but three games this season. ISU is averaging 38.3 rebounds per contest. In the three contests leading up to Big 12 play, the Cyclones averaged a rebounding margin of +26. ISU outrebounded those three opponents by a combined total of 139-61, and in each game the Cyclones had more rebounds than the other team had points. Iowa State is averaging a rebounding margin of +9.3 per game, which ranks second in the Big 12 and ninth in the country. Rebounding has been a team effort, however, as six players are averaging 3.9 rebounds per game or more.
Defensive Pressure
The Cyclone defense has also been a bright spot this season. Iowa State is holding opponents to just 54 points per game through 21 contests. That mark leads the Big 12 and is 13th in the nation. ISU is also holding opponents to 36.4 percent shooting from the field and 30.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Triple Threat
ISU senior Alison Lacey has been outstanding this season. The 6-foot point guard is averaging 17.6 points, 6.5 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game. In Iowa State's win over Iowa, Lacey posted just the second triple-double in school history. She recorded 19 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds. In that same game, she also had five steals and two blocked shots. The only other triple-double in school history was by Jane Lobenstein in a game vs. Kansas in 1986. Lacey has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and has only turned the ball over 43 times in 21 games. She has posted six double-doubles (three point-assist and three point-rebound) this season in addition to her triple-double. She is shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.
On Fire
Iowa State has been one of the hottest three-point shooting teams in the nation again this season. The Cyclones have averaged 8.1 three-pointers per game (ninth nationally) and have shot the ball at a 41.2 percent clip (second in the nation) from beyond the arc. Iowa State has hit 10 or more three-pointers in seven games. ISU hit 33 three-pointers in back-to-back games this season (17 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 16 vs. Iowa). It's the first time in school history Iowa State has hit 30 or more treys in consecutive games combined. ISU has also hit at least 10 threes by halftime in two games. Three Cyclones have knocked down 31 or more three-pointers. Five ISU players are shooting 40.7 percent or better from long range this season.

She is also 10th in free-throw percentage (.885) and 56th in scoring (17.6 ppg).
