ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Tori Torrescano tossed four innings of three-hit ball and Rachel Zabriskie picked up her third career save as Iowa State defeated Western Michigan, 5-1, to win its fifth-straight game. The Cyclones improve to 18-12 with the win.

Torrescano (3-3) gave up a first inning run, but was able to keep the Cyclones in the game, following with three shutout innings.

The Cyclones took their first lead with two runs in the fourth inning, which came on back-to-back doubles from Dayln Varela and Torrescano.

After ISU added a run in the fifth on an error by Western Michigan (5-9), the Cyclones were able to tack on two more in the sixth.

The Cyclones took advantage of another error by the Broncos, with Alex Johnson delivering a two-run double that plated Bianca Lopez and Courtney Wray.

Zabriskie tossed three innings of no-hit ball to pick up her first save of the season. The junior struck out four in relief.

Diana Patterson (1-3) took the loss for Western Michigan, giving up five runs on seven hits.

The Cyclones will be back in action Sunday, facing Saint Louis and Western Michigan in a pair of games. The Cyclones will face the Broncos at 10 a.m. and the Billikens at noon.
