Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State looks to rebound against Nebraska after a rough weekend against nationally-ranked Texas A&M. The Cyclones dropped an eight-inning heartbreaker, 4-2, before falling 9-1 Sunday in the series finale.
- Iowa State has won two in a row against the Huskers for the first time since 1994 and is looking to take three straight for the first time since 1992 and 1993.
- The magic number for the Cyclones is three. When ISU scores three or more runs it is 20-6. When scoring two or less, the Cyclones are just 4-15.
- Sydni Jones and Courtney Wray both went 6-for-12 in four games last week.
- Erica Miller hit two home runs last week. The freshman is second on the team with a .304 average in Big 12 play. Miller is hitting .313 over the last 10 games, including a double and two homers.
- Iowa State needs just two wins to tie its total from 2009, when it finished 26-29. With at least 10 games left, the Cyclones are looking to win 30 games in a season for the first time since 1989 (32-18-1).
- Rachel Zabriskie has 228 strikeouts this season. The junior is first player in ISU history to record 200 strikeouts in a season twice in a career.
- Zabriskie needs five strikeouts to tie the single-season record of 233, which was set by Suzanne Wedemeier in 1982.
- Heidi Kidwell has recorded three hits in five different games this season. The sophomore has 55 hits and is tied for eighth on the single-season chart. She needs two more to move up to seventh.
- Alex Johnson and Wray continue their climb up the career hits chart. Johnson is second with 185 hits and Wray is third with 184. Kelsey Kidwell has also jumped into the top-10 and currently sits seventh with 156 career base knocks.
- Jones needs just two walks to tie Peg Geary's record of 24, which was set in 1981.
- Kelsey Kidwell needs eight stolen bases to tie the school record of 48 (Adi Blackmon).
