Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State (25-25, 3-11 Big 12) closes the home portion of its schedule this weekend when it plays host to No. 15 Texas at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
- This weekend's games will mark the final home contests for the five-player senior class of Amanda Bradberry, Alex Johnson, Sydni Jones, Kelsey Kidwell and Courtney Wray. The class has played in a combined 1,015 games and collected 785 hits.
- ISU dropped a pair of wild games to No. 10 Missouri Wednesday afternoon, falling 12-6 in the first game and 14-9 in the second.
- Johnson has homered in the last two games and three of the last four. The senior has 25 and needs just two more to tie Erica Martinez's career mark.
- Jones needs just one walk to break Peg Geary's record of 24, which was set in 1981.
- Rachel Zabriskie has 240 strikeouts this season. The junior is first player in ISU history to record 200 strikeouts in a season twice in a career. The 240 strikeouts is a single-season record.
- Heidi Kidwell has recorded 58 hits and is tied for sixth on the single-season chart. She needs one more to move into a tie for fourth. With two more hits she'll become just the fourth player in school history with a 60 hit season.
- The top-two single-season hit marks have been set by a sophomore and freshman: Jenny Condon (77, 1988) and Alex Johnson (62, 2007). Heidi Kidwell needs three more hits to make it the top-three marks set by underclassmen.
- Johnson and Wray continue their climb up the career hits chart. Wray is second with 194 and Johnson is third with 189. Kelsey Kidwell has also jumped into the top-10 and currently sits sixth with 163 career base knocks.
- Wray is looking to become just the second player in school history to record 200 career hits, joining Jenny Condon (1987-90), who finished with 216 hits.
- Kelsey Kidwell needs eight stolen bases to tie the school record of 48 (Adi Blackmon).
- Iowa State needs just five runs to break the previous school record of 215, which was set in 2008 and 2009.
Series Notes Against Texas
- Texas currently leads the all-time series 28-1, with Iowa State's only win coming in 2005 in Austin. The Longhorns are 11-0 in Ames.
- Texas won the series last year, taking a 4-2 win in eight innings in the series opener and following with a 5-1 in the finale.
Win No. 20
- With her win over Nebraska, Zabriskie became the first Cyclone to reach 20 wins since Lori Young won 24 in 1985. Young holds the school record of 25, which she set in 1984.
