Cyclone Gymnasts Earn Diplomas

AMES, Iowa?The Iowa State gymnastics team saw five seniors graduate this past weekend, all of who earned Academic All-Big 12 honors and exemplified the true essence of a student-athlete during their careers.

The five graduating Cyclones were: Katie Sweetin, Anna Robey, Ashley Kent, Melanie Tham and Ceilia Maccani.

Gymnastics coach Jay Ronayne felt the graduating seniors were model representatives of Iowa State during their time in Ames, and will succeed in the next steps of their lives.

“They all will go out into the world to do great things,” Ronayne said. “The experience they received by being an Iowa State student-athlete prepared them well for their future careers. But more importantly, they all have that little extra, that something special that will give them a tremendous advantage in their careers. Their intrinsic motivation to succeed will carry them far. They will be the best ambassadors of ISU that a university can have.”
