AMES, Iowa – Iowa State freshman guard
Nikki Moody has been named Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week by a media voting panel for her performance in games against Drake and Northern Arizona. It is the first career honor for Moody.
The Euless, Texas native dished out 12 assists with just four turnovers last week in a pair of wins for the Cyclones. She tallied a career-high 16 points against Drake, connecting on 8-of-11 attempts from the free throw line. Moody recorded career-highs for assists (nine), rebounds (four) and steals (three) against Northern Arizona. For the week she averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds.
Baylor's Brittney Griner earned player of the week honors.
