Cyclones Return Home after Tournament Cancellation

STANFORD, Calif. - The Iowa State softball team (14-8) will return from its trip to the Louisville Slugger Classic without a pitch or at bat after nonstop rain cancelled the three-day tournament which included teams from Nevada-Las Vegas, Cal Poly, Northwestern and the No. 10 Cardinal.
The Cyclones have had seven-straight games cancelled in the last week after snow in Kansas City cancelled a doubleheader with the University of Missouri-Kansas City last Monday.
On Tuesday, the Cyclones will host their Southwest Athletic Complex opener with a doubleheader with Creighton. The Bluejays were in Ames earlier this year for the Cyclone Indoor Invitational, held at the Bergstrom Indoor Training Facility. The Cyclones blanked the Bluejays, 7-0, in the meeting.
Tuesday's doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. CST with the second game scheduled for 4 p.m.
