Tennis Will Kick Off in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Iowa State tennis will start off fall competition this weekend in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Gopher Invitational. The Cyclones will join eight teams from multiple conferences for duals, including Big 12 foe Missouri. Competing for the Big 10 will be Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.
With a travel party of eight, the Cyclones are eager to get back into the swing of things.
"I'm just looking for the girls to play a ton of matches," Iowa State head coach Armando Espinosa said. "Going out and getting the chance to compete is invaluable, and these matches are going to get us that much closer to where we need to be in the spring."
Flights are set to begin Friday morning at 9 a.m. at the University of Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center, and will continue through noon Sunday.
