Looking Back With Janel (Grimm) Burgess

AMES, Iowa - Janel (Grimm) Burgess, who played for Iowa State from 1994-98, played a key role in helping the Cyclone women's basketball team reach the level it is at today. Now she is building her own program at Grand Valley State, having led the Lakers to the NCAA Division II tournament in 2010-11.
Burgess, who tallied nearly 1,500 points and more than 800 rebounds, sat down with cyclones.com this summer when visiting Ames. The two-time All-Big 12 selection talks about head coach Bill Fennelly's impact on her career, the support of Cyclone fans as well as some of her former teammates.
