IRVING, Texas - Iowa State point guard Nikki Moody has been named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. Moody averaged 13.5 points and six rebounds last week as the Cyclones split a pair of road contests.
Moody scored 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting against Kansas State, which included two three-pointers to go along with six rebounds as the Cyclones upended the Wildcats on the road. The Euless, Texas native tallied 12 points and six more boards in a two-point loss at Texas A&M. Moody played 69 of the possible 80 minutes last week and has started 18 of ISU's 19 games.
She has 84 assists this season and needs just 24 more to equal Iowa State's freshman record, which was set by Lyndsey Medders in 2004.
Baylor's Brittney Griner claimed player of the week accolades for the fourth time this season.
