- Iowa State officially opens the 40th season in the history of the program Sunday when it hosts Western Illinois in the season opener for both squads. The Cyclones have made 13 NCAA Tournaments, all of which have come under the direction of
Bill Fennelly.
- Iowa State holds an all-time record of 609-526 (.537). The Cyclones have had nine-straight winning seasons.
- Fennelly is in his 18th season at Iowa State, boasting a record of 372-173 (.683). This marks his 25th season overall as a head coach (538-226).
- The Cyclones went 2-0 in exhibition play, winning by an average of 45 points per game. ISU shot 44.3 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from behind the arc during the exhibition portion of the schedule.
