- Iowa State (7-1) heads into the holiday break following Thursday night's tilt with East Tennessee State (2-4) at Hilton Coliseum, where the Cyclones have won 69-straight regular season nonconference games.
- The Cyclones beat Northern Iowa 67-59 Monday night in Cedar Falls for their 10th straight win over the Panthers. The winning streak matches the longest ever over an opponent (Creighton and Nebraska).
- The Cyclones have become one of the top defensive teams in the nation this season. Iowa State ranks fifth nationally allowing opponents just 47.4 points per game behind the nation's top field goal percentage defense (29.4 percent). Behind the arc opponents are shooting just 23.8 percent, ninth in the nation and tops among BCS conference schools.

Hallie Christofferson continued her strong start to the season, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against UNI. It marked her third double-double this season and the second 20+ scoring effort. Christofferson has scored in double figures in nine games in a row dating back to last season.

Chelsea Poppens continues to get back into form following a three-game absence (concussion). The senior All-America candidate recorded her second double-double of the season against UNI, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Nikki Moody is leading the Big 12 and ranks third nationally with 7.3 assists per game. She had seven assists to just two turnovers against UNI. The sophomore has posted at least five assists in all seven games she has played this season.

Brynn Williamson has taken on the defensive stopper role this season and is averaging a team-high 1.6 steals per game. She has also seen her offensive numbers improve in her second season on campus, shooting 44.2 percent from behind the arc (32.2 percent as a freshman).
- The Cyclones are assisting on a Big 12 best 72.4 percent of their field goals. ISU has six games this season with 17 or more assists after doing it just 10 times all last season.
