Cyclone Notebook
- Iowa State, winners of four of its last five games, hits the road for a pair of contests this week. The Cyclones open action at Missouri Wednesday before a nationally televised ESPN2 game at Texas Tech Sunday. ISU lost on the road to both foes last year, snapping a three-game win streak at Mizzou and two-straight wins at Tech.
- The Cyclones are in search of their second Big 12 road win this season. Iowa State beat Kansas State by nine in Manhattan but has fallen in its other four league away games. Two of those losses came in the last 2.5 seconds of the game, while another came in double overtime.
- The Cyclones swept a pair of home games last week, capping it off with a 71-56 win over Texas. The Cyclones shot 51.9 percent to erase a four-point halftime deficit against the Longhorns.
- Chelsea Poppens had one of the best games in her career, posting a career-high 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in just 24 minutes. The junior was 9-for-11 from the field and 9-for-11 from the free-throw line. She earned her second Big 12 Player of the Week award for her efforts last week.
- Sophomore Hallie Christofferson was in double figures for the third game in a row and fifth time in six games. In the last three games, Christofferson is averaging 16.7 points, while shooting 62.5 percent from the field and 64.3 (9-14) percent from behind the arc.
- Anna Prins was also in double figures against Texas, finishing with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
- As a team, Iowa State dished out 23 assists. In two games last week the Cyclones had 39 assists on 46 made field goals.
- Lauren Mansfield had a career-high 11 assists and just one turnover against Texas. The senior guard has 23 assists in the last three games. Her 2.0 assist/turnover ratio is 27th nationally.
- Poppens has posted double-digit rebounds in 12 of the 20 games she has played in this season. The junior leads the Big 12 and is sixth nationally averaging 11.3 rebounds per game.
- Brynn Williamson is tied for fourth in the Big 12 averaging 1.8 three-pointers made per game. As a team, Iowa State leads the league hitting 7.1 threes per contest.
- Williamson's fellow freshmen Nikki Moody is leading Big 12 rookies in assists and is tied for second among them in scoring.
- Poppens' 10 double-doubles tie Baylor's Brittney Griner for the most in the Big 12.
- Poppens is the only Big 12 player averaging a double-double with 14.9 points and 11.3 rebounds.
- Moody is shooting 80 percent (24-30) on free throws over the final five minutes of the game this season.
- Poppens needs 103 rebounds to move into sixth place all-time at Iowa State. Janel Grimm (1995-98) is currently sixth with 813 career boards.
- Iowa State has an all-time record of 604-521 (.537), including 367-168 (.686) under the direction of Fennelly.

- Poppens has been in double figures in five-straight games. She has scored 20+ points in three of the last four games.
- Poppens is shooting 76.9 percent (40-52) from the line in the last eight games.
- Poppens has 10 double-doubles this season, including the last two games. She has posted double-digit rebounds in 16 of her last 24 games dating back to last season.
