AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State Cyclones (9-15, 0-0 Big 12) will travel to Omaha, Neb. on Wednesday to play a doubleheader with Creighton (11-11, 2-1 MVC) before returning home for their first conference series of the season against No. 6 Texas (23-2, 2-0 Big 12) this weekend.
The Cyclones head to Creighton on a two game winning streak, having beaten Santa Clara and St. Mary's to close out the 2012 Gaels Classic last weekend. In both wins, Iowa State scored first and led after four innings, both of which have been good indicators of the Cyclones' success this season. Iowa State is 7-0 both with scoring first and leading after four innings. However, when their opponent strikes first, the Cyclones are 2-15 and the team is 0-14 when trailing after the fourth frame.
Iowa State split its games with Creighton in Ames last year and swept the Bluejays 2-1 and 3-1 in Omaha in 2010. This year, the Cyclones will face four Bluejays with more than 10 RBIs on the season on Wednesday. Amy Baker leads the Bluejays with 27 runs driven in, followed by Bri Lingl (17), Allie Mathewson (12) and Liz Dike (11).

Sophomore Rachel Fox leads the staff with a 1.07 ERA through 52.1 innings of work and ace Blair Luna has logged 59.1 innings in the circle, compiling a 9-1 record and 171 strikeouts.
Wednesday's first game against the Bluejays is slated for 4 p.m. CST with game two to follow. Friday's weekend-opener with Texas is scheduled for 4 p.m. CST at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
