AMES, Iowa - Iowa State (12-28, 1-11 Big 12) will play intrastate rival Iowa (17-21, 7-5 Big Ten) on Wednesday in the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series at the Southwest Athletic Complex. Iowa State leads Iowa in the Cy-Hawk overall standings this year, 15-10.
On Saturday, the Cyclones dropped a doubleheader at Oklahoma State as juniors Erica Miller and Tori Torrescano continued to cement themselves among the best softball players in Iowa State history.
The duo hit home runs in the same game for the second time this season in the day's second game, each tallying 25 career home runs, tied for third all-time at Iowa State. Torrescano's dinger was her 11th of the season, tying the single-season record held by herself (2011), Miller (2011) and Lindsey Herrin (2002).
Miller drove in two runs with her blast over the batter's eye in dead centerfield, bringing her career RBI total to 90 and moving her to second-place in the Cyclone history books.
