AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team opens Big 12 Championship play Thursday at 10 a.m. against Missouri at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M University. The Cyclones (4-18, 1-8 Big 12) are seeded ninth, while Missouri (10-11, 2-7) earned the eighth seed.
The Cyclones are Tigers are meeting for the 41st and final time with both teams members of the Big 12 Conference. Iowa State owns a 21-19 overall record against the Tigers. Thursday's meeting marks the first time the squads have met at the Big 12 Championships.
Missouri won the regular season contest between the schools, taking a 6-1 win over Iowa State in Ames on April 6.

Simona Cacciuttolo earned the only point for the Cyclones in the previous meeting, defeating Missouri's Maria Christiansen in a tiebreaker (4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (9)). Cacciuttolo also teamed up with
Marie-Christine Chartier at No. 2 doubles to grab a win.
Cacciuttolo, a Los Andes, Chile native, enters tournament action having won her last four singles contests.
The winner of Thursday's match will face top-seeded Texas Tech Friday at 9 a.m.
