AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State softball team will open its fall exhibition schedule on Sunday against Des Moines Area Community College, playing its first-ever games in the new Cyclones Sports Complex.
Returning to the Iowa State squad this season are seniors
Erica Miller and
Tori Torrescano, who have torn up the Cyclone offensive record books in their first three seasons. Torrescano currently holds the all-time home run record with 28 and Miller sits just behind her with 27 long-balls. The duo also ranks in the top-10 in Iowa State history in both career RBIs and batting average.
Joining the Cyclones in 2012-13 are seven newcomers, four freshmen and three transfers, including Iowa's 2012 Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist,
Riley Fisher (RHP, Des Moines).
Fans attending Sunday's games should enter through the South side of the complex due to continuing construction on the Cyclones Sports Complex.
The doubleheader against the Bears begins at 10 a.m. CDT on Sunday with the second game to follow at approximately noon.
