Cyclones to Play in Consolation Finals

HOUSTON, Texas- The Iowa State tennis team finished up day two at the Cougar Classic on Friday with both doubles pairs heading to the consolation finals of their brackets.
Freshman Samantha Budai teamed up with Sophomore Ana Gasparovic for the Cyclones' first doubles win of the tournament. The duo took down the Stephen F. Austin pair of Malena Gordo and Andrea Ternera, 8-4. The pair will move on to the consolation finals on Sunday.
Junior Ksenia Pronina and senior Emma Waites will also play in the consolation finals tomorrow after receiving a bye in today's round.
Gasparovic also had success in singles with a win over Lamar's Hannah Elfving, 6-4, 6-4. The Zagreb, Croatia native will play in the consolation finals of her bracket on Sunday.
The tournament will continue on Sunday with final rounds being played in singles and doubles action.
