STANFORD, Calif. - The Iowa State women's golf team is tied for sixth place after the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate. The Cyclones shot a 286 today to put them in a tie with Pepperdine. UCLA is the day one team leader after firing a 279.
Junior Cajsa Persson carded an impressive 68 (3-under) with four birdies to put her in a tie at fourth. Freshman Celia Barquin followed closely behind shooting a 69 (T6). UCLA's Bronte Law is leading the medalist race after shooting a 65.
Senior Chonlada Chayanun shot a 73 (T45) and freshman Nattapan Siritrai is tied for 69th with a 76.
The Stanford Intercollegiate continues throughout the weekend with 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
