ISU came out on top in three matches over opponents from Oklahoma. Senior Ksenia Pronina and sophomore Samantha Budai defeated Zita Engroks and Emma Devine, 8-4. Senior Meghan Cassens and junior Ana Gasparovic paired up to take down Morgan Chumney and Malene Stripp, 8-3. Junior Alejandra Galvis and sophomore Talisa Merchiers earned an 8-4 win over teammate Natalie Phippen, who paired up with OU's Ann Pepper after scheduling changes early in the day.
Four cyclones earned singles wins today, including the third win of the weekend for Cassens, who took down Stripp in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8. The Tacoma, Washington, native finishes a successful run with a 9-1 record going into the spring.
Budai defeated Oklahoma's Chumney, 6-3, 6-3, Sunday morning, while Pronina defeated Engbroks, 6-4, 6-2. Gasparovic took down Pepper in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.
Galvis struggled in three sets against Devine, taking the first but eventually falling, 1-6, 6-2, 8-10.
The Cyclones' fall season has come to an end, but they will hit the courts again in January at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational, Jan. 17-19 in Fort Myers, Fla.
