MIAMI, Fla.- Iowa State Tennis (4-2, 0-0 Big 12) will play in Florida Atlantic Friday in Miami, before heading to Daytona Beach to take on Bethune-Cookman Sunday.
Last weekend in Milwaukee, the Cyclones bounced back Saturday to take down Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 6-1, after a tough 5-2 loss to Marquette on Friday.
“It could have easily been 4-3 with Milwaukee,” head coach Armando Espinosa said, “To turn it around and win 6-1 was good. Marquette on the other hand, I thought we had opportunities to win and we just didn't capitalize.”
Florida Atlantic defeated Bethune-Cookman last Saturday, 6-1, making the Owls 1-1 for the season. Bethune-Cookman is currently 2-4.
“We just have to keep hitting the ball,” Espinosa said, “We can't just hope that the opponent is going to give you the match.”
Play is scheduled to start Friday at 12 p.m. (CT).
