Milwaukee, Wisc.- Iowa State Tennis (4-2, 0-0 Big 12) took down the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers on Saturday in Milwaukee, 6-1. The Panthers are now 1-2 for the season.

The Cyclones started off strong by taking the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Junior Ksenia Pronina and freshman Samantha Budai teamed up at No. 1 doubles to take down Diana Tokar and Christina Colarossi, 6-2. At No. 2, Junior Meghan Cassens and sophomore Ana Gasparovic defeated Hayley Marshall and Alyssa Straub, 6-3.

Pronina saw Tokar again at No. 1 singles, taking the win 6-1, 6-2. Budai took the win over Aerielle Pendleton, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot.

Cassens got the win at the No. 3 singles over Marshall, 6-0, 6-0. Gasparovic took the win at the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(7), over Dana Shannon. Senior Emma Waites took down Kristin Kurer at the No. 6 spot, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0(6).

Freshman Lydia Green was defeated by Straub at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

At No. 3 doubles, junior Caroline Anderson and Waites lost to Shannon and Pendleton, 6-1.

The Cyclones will be back in action next Friday in Miami, taking on Florida Atlantic at 12 p.m.
