AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team (9-2, 0-0 Big 12) opens the Big 12 schedule against Kansas State (10-1, 0-0 Big 12) on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State is 13-5 in Big 12 home openers under head coach Bill Fennelly.

- Iowa State closed out its non-conference schedule with a 9-2 record. The Cyclones kick off Big 12 play on Saturday, Jan. 3 against Kansas State. Iowa State is 13-5 all time in Big 12 home openers. The Cyclones are 20-16 against the Wildcats in Hilton Coliseum, while Kansas-State owns the all-time series 48-34.
- Iowa State ranks fifth in the country in offensive points per possession with 1.12. The Cyclones are in good company at the top with just No. 2 UConn, No. 1 South Carolina, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 6 Baylor ahead of the Cyclones.
- Iowa State ranks first in the nation in assist-turnover ratio (1.75). Senior point guard Nikki Moody, the top returning point guard in the Big 12, is fifth nationally in assists per game with 7.1 and second in the Big 12.
- Moody became the 26th player in Iowa State history to reach 1,000 career points. Against Fairfield, Moody moved into 20th all-time passing Carmen Jaspers (1,097). Moody sits at 1,104 points for her career, which puts her at 20th all-time in the record books.
- Moody is second in the nation in career assists 612) and third nationally in career assists per game (5.83). Moody ranks second in Iowa State history in career assists with 612, she trails the school record held by Lyndsey Medders by just 107. Moody also led the Cyclones in assists with 163 last season, becoming just the fifth Cyclone to lead ISU in assists in three-consecutive seasons.
- Iowa State is first in the Big 12 and second in the nation in 3-pointers per game, averaging 10.3 per contest. Senior Brynn Williamson leads the Big 12 and is 41st nationally with 2.73 made per game.
- Williamson ranks 17th in the nation in active career 3-point field goals made, with 212. Her 212 makes ranks eighth in ISU history. She is just three makes away from passing Lindsey Wilson in seventh with 214. She also ranks 14th in career-active 3-pointers attempted with 625 total. She is just 13 attempts behind Alison Lacey, who ranks fifth in ISU history.
- Sophomore guard Seanna Johnson is second in the Big 12 Conference with 9.8 rebounds per game. Johnson has recorded seven double-figure rebounding games so far this season.
The 2014-15 season marks the 20th in the tenure of Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 15 NCAA Tournament appearances, which is the most of any Big 12 team since 1997. Fennelly boasts a 425-195 record at Iowa State and a 591-248 record in his 27-year career as a head coach. His 591 career wins lists him as 17th in the NCAA among active coaches.
- Over the last 20 seasons, no team in NCAA Division I has netted (4,858), attempted (13,598) or hit more 3-pointers per game (7.83) than the Cyclones. Over the last 20 seasons, Iowa State has also recorded the seventh-best 3-point percentage (35.7) in all of Division I. ISU's dominance from beyond the arc is unmatched and unprecedented.
- With the Cyclones appearance in last year's NCAA Tournament, they extended their streak to eight-straight appearances in the tournament. ISU is one of just 13 schools to make the last eight NCAA Tournaments.

- Iowa State closed out its non-conference slate with a 71-54 win over UC Riverside in the championship game of the Cyclone Challenge. The win improved Iowa State to a perfect 34-0 under head coach Bill Fennelly in the Cyclone Challenge.
- Senior Nikki Moody led the Cyclones in scoring with 19 points. She also added six rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes of play. Sophomore Seanna Johnson shined once again with her second double-double in as many games with 18 points and a season-high 13 rebounds.
- Iowa State continued to impress from beyond the arc knocking down 11 3-pointers. The Cyclones knocked down 10 or more 3-pointers for the seventh time this season.
