AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly announced today the addition of Heather Bowe, a transfer from Vanderbilt.
“We are so excited to add Heather to the Iowa State family,” Fennelly said. “She is a talented and versatile player who will also bring the experience of playing in the SEC. I know our fans will love watching her in a Cyclone uniform.”
Bowe, (pronounced bo-VEE), is a 6-0 incoming senior forward from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who will compete for the Cyclones in the 2016-17 season while purusing her master's degree.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to play at Iowa State and pursue my master's degree," Bowe said. "I am honored to get the chance to play for head coach Bill Fennelly and his great support staff of Jodi, Billy and Latoja. I am looking forward to playing in front of the wonderful fans in Hilton Coliseum and the rich tradition of Iowa State women's basketball.”
In the 2014-15 season, Bowe started 21 of the 23 games in which she appeared and averaged 7.0 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 52.2 percent from the field, which ranked third on the team. Bowe averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds her sophomore season and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2012-13 after averaging 6.2 points and 4.3 rebounds. Bowe was a Parade All-American in 2012 and was named the Associated Press Wisconsin Player of the Year her senior year.
