Cyclones Finish Strong at Gopher Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The final day at the Gopher Invitational ended well for Cyclone doubles teams of Ana Gasparovic/Annabella Bonadonna and Natalie Phippen/Anna Kuuttila.

Senior Ana Gasparovic and freshman Annabella Bonadonna defeated Florencia Magni and Morgan Brower of South Dakota State University in the first round of bracket play 6-3. They then went on to defeat Hayley Marshall and Labina Petrovska of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 6-2, and win their bracket.

Junior Natalie Phippen and senior Anna Kuuttila defeated Stephanie Londre and Maria Neff of University of Wisconsin-Green Bay 6-2 in their first round, advancing them to face Abigail Dekkinga and Michelle Erasmus of Northern Illinois University in the second round of play. Phippen and Kuuttila defeated Dekkinga and Erasmus to win their bracket 6-1.

Singles play for Iowa State was a success for Bonadonna and junior Samantha Budai, who placed 4th in B flight and 7th in A flight respectively.
