DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team (2-1, 0-0 Big 12) started their weekend off strong with a 4-0 win against the University of Nebraska-Omaha (0-2, 0-0 Summit) at the Knapp Tennis Center.
The Cyclones earned the doubles point with all three Cyclone pairings defeating the Mavericks. Samantha Budai and Liza continued their doubles success with a 6-3 win over the top pairing of Hylan Miller and Kylie Boyer.
Iowa State grabbed the 1-0 lead and never looked back with all four Cyclone athletes defeating their opponent in two sets. Liza Buss moves to 12-2 in singles play on the season after a 6-0, 6-1 win over Molly Matricardi.
The Cyclones will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
