AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State softball team is set for a pair of mid-week games, including a home match-up with Omaha on Thursday, April 14 at 3 p.m. CT. The Cyclones open the week on the road as they travel to Omaha, Neb. to take on Creighton on Wednesday. ISU will then return home the following day to take on Omaha at the Cyclone Sports Complex.

Cyclone Headlines
1. The Iowa State softball team (15-22, 0-6 Big 12) travels to Omaha, Neb. for mid-week game at Creighton on Wednesday, April 13 (4 p.m.). The Cyclones then return home on Thursday, April 14 to face Omaha (3 p.m.)
2. Over the weekend, the Cyclones fell in a three-game series with Big 12 foe Oklahoma State. Iowa State fell by scores10-2, 12-10 and 10-2. Games were played at OSU's Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.
3. Freshman Kaylee Bosworth provided the highlight of the weekend in Stillwater in game two of the series on Saturday. With the score knotted at 6-6, Bosworth launched a grand slam to dead center, clearing the bases and giving the Cyclones a 10-6 advantage. It was the freshman's second home run of the season.
4. The play continued Bosworth's impressive week. She had previously set a new season-high with three RBIs vs. Drake. The first baseman was 2-of-3 at the plate on the day, including a 2-RBI double to center in the top of the first inning.
5. Brittany Gomez has come on strong of late and showed why she was one of the top returning offensive players in the conference. The senior is hitting .394 (13-for-33) over the past 10 games and is now tied for first in the Big 12 in hits at 51. She has played five fewer games than the co-leader Jessie Scroggins (BU).
6. Gomez has recorded a hit in 34 of Iowa State's 37 games so far this season. She has reached base safely in 36 of Iowa State's games. The senior also leads the Big 12 in steals (20) and steals per game (.54). Against OSU she became the first player in school history with 20+ steals in four consectuvive seasons.
7. The Cyclones fell in a pair of road games last week against instate foes. On Tuesday, Iowa State dropped a 9-5 decision to Drake, followed by a 3-2 loss to UNI on Wednesday.
8. Junior Mandi Moore was strong in relief against UNI. Moore entered the game with no outs in the bottom of the third inning and performed admirably, giving up just one run on four hits in four innings of action.
9. Freshman Sally Woolpert provided the key play that led to ISU's victory over Indiana State. With the game knotted at 2-2, Woolpert hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth that would prove to be the game-winner. It was Woolpert's second homer of the season.
10. Freshman pitchers Savannah Sanders and Emma Hylen were both strong in the Cyclone win over Indiana State. Sanders got the win, giving up two runs on three hits in four innings of action. Hylen recorded her third save of the season, shutting the Sycamore attack down in three innings without surrendering a hit.
