Cyclone Game Ball Goes to...
The Cyclone backline. The Iowa State strong defensive presence of center backs, Madi Ott and Brianna Johnson, combined with outside backs, Kourtney Camy and Sasha Stinson, to completely shut down the Jackrabbits' attack. South Dakota State was only able to muster one shot in the game and they never had much of a chance.

Coach Said It
"I thought we came out really organized defensively," Minatta said. "I thought we were also organized against Florida, but it was just unfortunate to give up the goals that we did. To concede only one shot in the game was huge. It really showed our commitment to playing stout defense. Going forward, we did create some good chances. We had some great individual effort. We need to be more precise with our passing and connecting with each other, but we got the win and the shutout in the home opener. We are ready to move on to the next test which is going to be Creighton next Sunday."
