CyCans Provides More Than 40,000 Meals To Hungry
10.23.2017 | Athletics
AMES, IA -- Earlier this semester, 80 Iowa State student-athletes volunteered their time to collect donations for the Food Bank of Iowa in ISU's annual CyCans food drive.Â
CyCans was held throughout the tailgating lots earlier this season. Due to efforts from both the student-athletes and fans, $5,298 and 849 pounds of food were collected. These totals alone were enough to provide 21,900 meals.
Farm Bureau contributed to the cause by more than doubling the contributions from student-athletes and fans. With the help of Farm Bureau, CyCans has ensured that 43,092 total meals go to the Food Bank of Iowa to aid in the fight against hunger.
