AMES, Iowa – No. 22 Iowa State begins the second half of Big 12 play on the road Wednesday when the Cyclones make a visit to Kansas State. First serve at Ahearn Field House will be at 8 p.m., with ESPNU televising the match.

Iowa State had a strong defensive week with victories over West Virginia and TCU. The Cyclones had 34.0 total blocks across the two matches, and now rank fourth in the country in blocking with 3.16 blocks per set. The Cyclone block was led by junior Grace Lazard, who had a combined 19 blocks across the two matches and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.
The Cyclones will be looking to break the home/away jinx in the Iowa State-Kansas State series on Wednesday. The last time a team picked up a road victory in the series came in 2011, when the Cyclones left Manhattan victorious. Despite falling in five sets at West Virginia on Saturday, the Wildcats out hit the Mountaineers by 83 points, and had 16.0 total blocks.
