AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team (6-5, 0-0 Big 12) continues its six-game home stand when it takes on Kansas (9-2, 0-0 Big 12) on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. top open Big 12 play. Iowa State trails the all-time series against KU, 47-36, but ISU holds a 21-16 edge in Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State is also 15-6 all-time in Big 12 openers.Â

- Carleton is one of 20 players in the nation named to the Cheryl Miller Award Preseason Watch List, which honors the nation's top small forward. Carleton also earned honorable mention honors on the Big 12 preseason team for the 2017-18 season in addition to being a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 postseason team in 2016-17.
- Carleton is 14 points shy of reaching 1,000 in her career. She has 986 career points and currently ranks seventh in school history in career scoring average, with 14.3 points per game. She just passed all-time great Megan Taylor (14.1), who sits in eighth. Carleton is also poised to become one of the fastest Cyclones to 1,000 points.
- Emily Durr ranks 19th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage. She's connected on 46.8 percent of her shots from downtown and netted 22 triples on the year, which is second on the team behind Carleton (23). As a team, the Cyclones have made 104 3-pointers and rank first in the Big 12 and 17th nationally with 9.5 per game.
- Iowa State had seven different Cyclones connect on a 3-pointer vs. NC Central. The Cyclones are one of just four schools in the nation to have seven different players make a 3-pointer in the same game, joining Jacksonville State, DePaul and Pitt.
- The 2016-17 season marks the 23rd in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, which is tied with Oklahoma as the most of any Big 12 team since 1997. Fennelly boasts a 471-241 record at Iowa State and a 637-294 record in his 28-year career as a head coach. His 637 career wins lists him in the top-30 in the NCAA among active coaches.
