STORRS, Conn. - The Iowa State women's basketball team (18-12, 9-9 Big 12) is set to face No. 8 seed Syracuse (21-10, 11-5 ACC) on Saturday, March 18 at 12:30 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Storrs, Conn. Iowa State earned its 17th NCAA Tournament berth on Monday, which is its 10th appearance in 11 years.
Iowa State's game will air on ESPN2 following the conclusion of No. 1 UConn vs. No. 16 Albany, which tips at 10:05 a.m. CT.  Iowa State's game is set for a 12:30 p.m. tip, but may tipoff a few minutes early depending on the conclusion of UConn vs. Albany.Â

- Jadda Buckley currently ranks sixth all-time in Iowa State history with 453 career assists. Her 451 career assists rank 34th nationally and third among juniors.
- The Cyclones rank third in the nation in free throw percentage (80.0%). ISU led the nation in 2012-13 and 2013-14 at the charity stripe.
- Bridget Carleton ranks second in the nation in free throw percentage (93.9), while Buckley is 19th netting 87.6 percent from the charity stripe. Buckley's 86.7 career free-throw percentage is third in the ISU record book and ranks second in the nation among active career leaders, just under Washington's Kelsey Plum's 88.1 percent. Carleton sits in first in school history netting 88.0 percent in her career as well.
- Iowa State has three of the Big 12's top 10 scorers with Johnson fourth (15.6), Carleton in sixth (15.2) and Buckley in eighth (14.0). No other Big 12 school has more than two in the top 10.
- Johnson currently ranks fourth in school history in free throws made (392) and is fifth in free throws attempted (516). She needs 51 makes to tie for second all-time and nine attempts to pass Hallie Christofferson for fifth all-time.
- The 2016-17 season marks the 22nd in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, which is tied with Oklahoma as the most of any Big 12 team since 1997. Fennelly boasts a 465-235 record at Iowa State and a 631-288 record in his 28-year career as a head coach. His 631 career wins lists him in the top-20 in the NCAA among active coaches.

- The Iowa State women's basketball team fell to Kansas State in the Big 12 women's basketball Tournament, 74-67. The Cyclones struggled from the field, shooting just 33.3 percent in the loss to the Wildcats.
- Iowa State was led by Emily Durr who dropped a team-high 21 points and netted five triples. Heather Bowe and Seanna Johnson were the only other Cyclones to reach double figures with 13 and 12 points respectively.
