MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Iowa State went 4-0 in doubles action Sunday as it concluded play at the Gopher Invitational.
Annabella Bonadonna and Rita Timakova finished the weekend 7-1 in doubles play after winning twice on Sunday, including a 6-1 win in the finals of their bracket against South Dakota State's Katerina Tretyakova and Emily Van Dijk.
The Cyclone pairing of Maty Cancini and Regina Espindola easily disposed of opponents from North Dakota and South Dakota State complete the perfect day in doubles action.
On the singles side, Espindola won the consolation bracket with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Marta-Anna Tynna of South Dakota State.
Bonadonna finished the weekend with a 6-1, 6-4 victory against South Dakota's Jana Lazarevic. Timakova finished in fourth place of her bracket, falling to Minnesota's AnneMarie Emme, 6-2, 7-6 (6).
The Cyclones return to action next Friday at the Bluejay Invitational.
