




CHATHAM, Ontario, Canada - The Iowa State women's basketball team (4-0, 0-0 Big 12) is set to face Eastern Michigan (2-0, 0-0 MAAC) on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. in the hometown of senior guard Bridget Carleton. Wednesday marks the first meeting between ISU and Eastern Michigan and the first time the Cyclones have competed in Canada.Â

- ISU's Preseason WNIT Championship is the program's first. Iowa State is the fourth different Big 12 school to claim the Preseason WNIT crown. The Big 12 has won the Preseason WNIT four times with Kansas State winning in 2002, followed by Texas Tech in 2003 and Baylor has won the tournament twice, both in 2011 and 2015.
- Following the Cyclones Preseason WNIT Championship, ISU began receiving votes in the AP Poll, putting the Cyclones as the "next team in." Iowa State is looking for its first AP ranking since the 2013-14 season.
- Senior Bridget Carleton was named the Preseason WNIT MVP and Madison Wise was named to the All-Tournament Team. Carleton averaged 16.3 points, 12.0 and 6.0 assists. Wise, averaged 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

- Carleton enters the 2018-19 season with several preseason honors under her belt. She was most recently named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List and Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 list. She also earned a place on the Preseason All-Big 12 team and was recently named to the Cheryl Miller Award watch list. Last season, Carleton was a top-10 finalist for the award.
- Through three games this season, the Cyclones have three averaging double figures. Carleton (16.3) leads the way, followed by Ashley Joens (12.0) and Madison Wise (10.5).
