AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team jumped into the Associated Press Poll at No. 23, marking the first time since January 2014 the Cyclones have been ranked in the poll.
Last week, the Cyclones began receiving votes in the AP Poll and went from receiving none to being the 'next team' in last week's poll. Iowa State is off to a hot start in the 2018-19 season, with a 5-0 record, they are one of just 37 unbeaten teams in women's college basketball.
Iowa State's 5-0 start is also just the eighth time under head coach Bill Fennelly the Cyclones have begun the season 5-0. To start the season, the Cyclones claimed the Preseason WNIT Championship with wins over Niagara, Northern Illinois, Auburn and No. 24 Miami. ISU also grabbed a neutral site win over Eastern Michigan in Canada to improve to 5-0.
Iowa State travels to Vermillion, South Dakota on Wednesday to take on South Dakota at 7 p.m.
