Cyclones Finish Day One In California

LOS ANGELES – Iowa State wrapped up its first day of action at the Women of Troy Invitational hosted by Southern Cal Friday.
The Cyclones went 2-0 in doubles action, winning a pair of matches against Loyola Marymount. Freshmen Christin Hsieh and Ting-Pei Chang beat the LMU duo of Veronika Miroshnichenko and Siobhan Anderson, 6-2. Karen Alvarez and Chie Kezuka beat the LMU pair of Nevada Apollo and Katerina Filip, 6-1, to round out the doubles action.
In singles action, Kezuka earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over New Mexico's Albie Huang.
